Egly-Ouriet, Brut Tradition Grand Cru

"The NV Brut Tradition Grand Cru is superb and also a terrific introduction to the house style. Creamy and layered in the glass, with lovely aromatic nuance, the Tradition captures the generosity and resonance that is such a signature of the Egly-Ouriet Champagnes. Most importantly, the Tradition is quite strong for a NV Champagne based on the 2011 vintage. This release is 50% 2011, 30% 2010 and 20% 2009. Dosage is 5 grams per liter. Disgorged: July 2016." - Antonio Galloni

Dom Perignon

"Greeny gold hue. An aromatic, almost herbaceous nose with greengage and honeysuckle - very complex. Palate is rich and fresh with notes of grass, apple and honey. This is a big, flamboyant champagne. Very long although the 1990 has a bit more style in my humble opinion. Tasted May 2002." - Neal Martin

Krug, Clos d'Ambonnay

"Thrown in as a ringer, the 1995 Clos d’Ambonnay is a real treat to taste next to the 1996. In particular, tasting both vintages together shows that that 1995 is the more complete of these two first releases of Krug’s single-vineyard Champagne from Ambonnay. Finely-cut fruit, expressive aromatics and exceptional textural finesse are the signatures. This is another fabulous showing from the 1995 Clos d’Ambonnay." - Antonio Galloni

Louis Roederer, Cuvee Cristal

"One of the finest Champagnes I have ever brought to my lips, the 1999 Cristal bursts from the glass with fresh hazelnut and apple scents. Elegant, deep, and silky-textured, this medium to full-bodied beauty is immensely concentrated, pure, packed with apple flavors, and astoundingly long in the finish." - The Wine Advocate

Moet & Chandon, Dom Perignon Rose (Gift Box)

"I have a distinct feeling the 2002 Dom Pérignon Rosé is still not showing all of its cards. A bit more restrained in its expression than the alluring 2002 Blanc, the Rosé is quite vertical in its structure and overall feel. Hints of cranberry, mint and spice emerge in an exotic, powerful Champagne that deftly balances fruit, acidity and structure. This is a fabulous showing from the 2002. Disgorged 2012." - Antonio Galloni

Moet & Chandon, Dom Perignon Rose (Gift Box)

"The 2004 Dom Pérignon Rosé has put on remarkable weight over the last year or so. A rich, voluptuous wine, the 2004 Rosé hits the palate with stunning depth and resonance. The flavors are bold, rich and beautifully resonant from start to finish. Raspberry, cranberry, smoke, spice and crushed rocks build to the stunning, powerful finish. Vinous and ample, the 2004 Rosé will drink well for decades. The 2004 just keeps getting better with time in bottle." - Antonio Galloni

Salon Le Mesnil

"The 2004 Salon has been superb each time I have tasted it over the last year or so. Bright, tense and crystalline, with all of the energy that is typical of both Salon and the vintage in the Côte des Blancs, the 2004 bristles with superb precision and cool, pulsating minerality. The 2004 spent a dozen years on its lees. Over the last six months or so, it has gradually begun to open up, but it is very much a wine for the cellar. Two thousand four is remembered as a vintage with record high yields. Salon (and Delamotte) did a terrific job in keeping the vines well balanced. Production was just 46,000 bottles, as opposed to the 60,000 or so that is more typical. Chef de Caves Michel Fauconnet opted for a low dosage of just 4 grams per liter. This is a tremendous showing." - Antonio Galloni

Taittinger, Comtes de Champagne

"Taittinger fans will want to stock away at least a few bottles of the 2005 Comtes de Champagne, if nothing else to satisfy the urge while some of the more important recent vintages continue to age in the cellar. The 2005 is immediate, deep and nicely textured, with overt fruit and fewer of the intense floral, mineral-driven notes that are typical. The first signs of aromatic development appear to off on the horizon by a few years, but at the same time, I don't expect the 2005 to be one of the more long-lived vintages here. Comtes de Champagne remains the best value in grand marque Tête de Cuvée Champagne." - Antonio Galloni

Philipponnat, Clos des Goisses

"Not surprisingly, the 2005 Clos des Goisses is still very much a baby. At once dense yet also compact, the 2005 has almost an animal sense of power to it, along with elements of austerity that need time to soften. Brioche, apple tart and smoke are nicely delineated in the bouquet, but otherwise, the 2005 is not giving up much today. As always, Clos des Goisses is built for cellaring. The only question is how long it will be before the 2005 is ready to deliver maximum pleasure. Disgorged November 2013. Dosage is 4 grams/liter." - Antonio Galloni

Dom Perignon

"The 2006 Dom Pérignon is a beautifully balanced, harmonious Dom Pérignon that strikes an incredibly appealing stylistic middle ground. Rich, voluptuous and creamy, the 2006 shows off fabulous intensity in a style that brings together the ripeness of 2002 with the greater sense of verve and overall freshness that is such a signature of the 2004. Bass notes and a feeling of phenolic grip on the finish recall the 2003, as the Pinot Noir is particularly expressive today. After an irregular summer that saw elevated temperatures in July followed by cooler, damp conditions in August, more favorable weather returned in September, pushing maturation ahead and leading to a long, protracted harvest. The 2006 falls into the family of riper, more voluptuous Dom Pérignons, but without veering into the level of opulence seen in vintages such as 2002. " - Antonio Galloni
