W. & J. Graham is certainly one of the contenders for the title of the greatest British port house, now part of the Symington empire (with Warre, Dow and others). It has been making great port for as long as anybody can remember. The house style is for rich, full-bodied and exceptionally long-lived vintage ports and tawnies with a similar voluptuousness. Much of the distinctive character of Grahams comes from its most famous vineyard, the Quinta dos Malvedos. In years when a vintage port is not made, this is bottled separately and represents tremendous value for money.
