TASTING NOTES
" I recommend all right-thinking drinkers try Marc Colin's uplifiting Aligote. Aligote is a real 'winemakers' grape, with some of the top growers working almost as hard as they do on their Grand Cru's to show the potential of this misunderstood grape. The style here is pure, citrus-scented, crisp and complex. Perfect drunk under the chilly but sunny skies." - Joe Gilmour, shop manager.
PRODUCER NOTES
Marc Colin was born in 1944 and created his domain at the late 1970s whith his wife Michèle.
They look after vineyards stemming from several generations of Colin and Ponavoy families, some parcels of land are owned by the family for more than a century.
They have planted approximately 6 hectares of vineyards in the village of Chassagne-Montrachet, Saint-Aubin and continued to develop the domain during 1980s and 1990s.
Today, Caroline, Joseph and Damien, three of their children, lead the domain which extends over 19 hectares ans includes 26 names of the villages of Saint-Aubin, Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet and Santenay.
Joseph works with the vineyards in "reasoned" culture (agriculture raisonnée) and the other part in organic farming.
Regular work soil allows us to avoid the chemical weed control, and get perfect quality grapes.
