MONTELIG 2005, VIñA VON SIEBENTHAL
TASTING NOTES
A fantastic blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Carmenère, this Bordeaux-inspired wine is full-bodied with aromas of blackcurrant, vanilla and spice. An exceptional effort from one of the best producers in Chile and a truly special bottle that shows what the New World is capable of.
PRODUCER NOTES
For over two decades, Mauro von Siebenthal, a Swiss lawyer and wine aficionado, had a dream. In 1998, Viña von Siebenthal finally became a reality. Viña von Siebenthal's harmonious philosophy has produced an extremely elegant wine which eloquently expresses the extraordinary characteristic of the Valle de Aconcagua terroir.
Viña von Siebenthal's cellar (in Spanish "bodega") is an elegant mix of state-of-the-art technology and respect for the architectural traditions of the Chilean "casona", the traditional colonial style country mansion. The vinification process is carried out with meticulous care, one small batch at a time, selecting only the best must. After a long period of cold maceration, the grapes are left to their slow and gentle process of fermentation. Once the wine has rested in the barrels long enough it is bottled at the bodega and sealed with the best Portuguese corks.
