TASTING NOTES

The Blanc de Blancs cuvée from Nyetimber is made from 100% Chardonnay and is fresh, well-balanced and finely structured. Improves with age.

PRODUCER NOTES

By far the most promising avenue for English wine producers is sparkling wine made in the Champagne style. Leading the way are Nyetimber, an estate making excellent sparkling wine from the traditional Champagne grape varieities (Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier) grown on the South Downs (on the same chalk ridge that runs through the Champagne region in France). Their wines are growing rapidly in reputation as year on year they trump pricier offerings from across the Channel in blind tastings.
