DESCRIPTION
An Englishman, John Woodhouse, started the Marsala industry in 1773. The 'Vergine' Marsala is made slightly different to the rest, it has an ageing system similar to the Soleras of sherry. This is also a Riserva, which means aged 10 years or more in cask for more concentrated, complex and deep flavours.
