Marcel Deiss is one of the world’s leading exponents of biodynamic viticulture, insisting that such an approach is necessary to fully express the great terroir of his vineyards. In fact, his entire focus is on the specific character of his vineyards over and above grape variety, so that his top wines are actually blends of different varieties from a single site. In style the wines are big and expressive, and tend to err on the sweeter side of Alsace winemaking.
