Troplong-Mondot is new wave St-Emilion at its best, producing powerful, oaky wines from a vineyard on the hill above Château Pavie. The pre-1990 wines were less concentrated and more classic, but have aged well – which just goes to show that good terroir can shine through no matter what style you’re making.
