When Clive Coates MW released the updated version of his comprehensive book on ‘The Wines of Burgundy’, he promoted 12 estates to the top accolade of 3 stars. One of these was Domaine Jean Grivot of Vosne-Romanée, which Coates describes as “…one of the great domaines of Burgundy.”
Etienne, son of Jean, is the man in charge today, and the wines demonstrate a wonderful purity of fruit. They are luscious and luxuriously textured with the potential to age gracefully for many years.
