PRODUCER NOTES

The severe, serious, Rene Rostaing has emerged from the late 1990’s as one of the finest producers of Cote Rotie. Supremely conscientious, Rene decided to declassify most of his top Cote Rotie into a ‘cinque Terroirs’ where he saw that the quality didn’t merit separate bottlings. To achieve the quality he desires yields are kept at around 30 hl/ha, uses only around 20% new oak and bottles unfiltered after around 18 months of the vintage. He also makes a superb Condrieu, La Bonette.
