PRODUCER NOTES

For 500 years, successive generations of Chaves have been running this legend of an estate. From father Gerard to son, Jean Louis, a notation of terroir and tradition has been passed on in the strongest form and a sense of custodianship of this great terroir. From choice parcels in Dionnieres, L’Hermite, Peleat, Beaumes, Les Bressards and Le Meal these are wines for long ageing and minimal winery intervention. In the spirit of experimentation, Jean Louis introduced a heavily oaked offereing, Cuvee Cathelin in a few choice vintages to offer a different interpretation to the more classic straight Hermitage.
