TASTING NOTES

5 Stelle Sfursat is the top wine from Nino Negri and is made from 100% Nebbiolo. The 'Sfursat' method is similar to the process used to make Amarone, in that the grapes are dried before pressing, giving an incredibly concentrated, powerful wine of great body and intensity. This makes it an ideal accompaniment to strongly flavoured, chewy meat dishes.

PRODUCER NOTES

Nino Negri are far and away the leading producer in Valtellina, a little-known (in this country) area of Lombardy on the Swiss border, where the steep slopes of the mountains give ideal conditions for Nebbiolo vines. The top wines of Nino Negri rival the best in Italy, with some of the qualities of both top Barolo and Amarone as well as a unique Valtellina character.
