TASTING NOTES
"My wine of the month is Grecanico Integer by Marco de Bartoli. This wine has delicious toasty notes and is made in an oxiditive style. Beautiful, full bodied honey and apricot notes have a flavour profile not dissimilar to Bollinger. The long palette continues to, almond and praline notes while remaining bone dry the whole way through the palette and finishing with grippy acidity and lovely oxidative notes. The inherent minerality that you expect from the grecanico grape is present throughout furthur layering on the complexity. Like most Italian wines, this is perfect with food and indeed one of my favourites. Try it with slightly heavier fish dishes such as roast seabass with curried mussel ragout, or Roast monkfish with vignole. Delicious." - Paul Hannagen, wine advisor.
PRODUCER NOTES
Marco De Bartoli could be regarded as the living symbol of Marsala and Sicilian wine in general, with his respect for the past and confidence in the future burdened with doubts about perpetual contradictions. In the seventies, took over her mother Josephine in Baglio Samperi. On the estate had grown grapes Marsala for two centuries, but Marco de Bartoli, with a degree in agronomy and an admirable record as a driver of racing cars, with no intention to drag on an industry in decline. Transformed into sun-baked rustic cellars, where he followed his own vision of Marsala wine, decorating the space available with a collection of vintage cars.
