TASTING NOTES

The Chardonnay from Cloudy Bay may be less well-known than it's Sauvignon Blanc stablemate, but many regard it as the superior wine. It is certainly a fantastic example of the variety with great balance and a full-bodied ripe fruit flavour.

PRODUCER NOTES

Founded in 1985 Cloudy Bay became an iconic producer through its pungent, nettle-sharp Sauvignon Blanc. Since then, quality has been sky-high as it has had to be with the influx of high-quality competitors. Winemaker Kevin Judd has introduced a barrel-fermented Sauvignon ‘Te Koko’ as well as further varietals to enhance the diversity of the offerings but it is still the Sauvignon Blanc that sells out within a few weeks of the vintage.
