Lafaurie-Peyraguey is currently one of the top first growths in Sauternes, with a really fantastic run of success in good years going back to at least 1979. These are wines of great structure – sweet, of course, but with the acidity to back it up and allow them to develop gracefully with long periods of bottle ageing.
