Grown in light soils, this is a ripe, fleshy wine which was made by Jean-Michel Arcaute of Chateau Clinet for many years, until the day he died. La Croix du Casse consists of 9 hectares of vines :80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc. The wines are extremely rich with notes of plum, black fruits, with hints of coffee and dark chocolate. It is made to keep, and it is at its peak after being aged for at least 10 years.
