An astonishing estate, producing some of the most awe-inspiring wines of the century, Jaboulet was recently sold to the Frey family of La Lagune who immediately set about massive investment to elevate the wines to the level they were at in the sixties and seventies. Always capable of hitting the heights, the wines sometimes lack a little consistency but when on form delver a thrilling mix of power and elegance. Key wines here include the superb Domaine de Thalabert Crozes Hermitage, La Chapelle Hermitage and Les Jumelles Cote Rotie. By and large, the wines are stronger from the North then in the South.
