Nino Negri are far and away the leading producer in Valtellina, a little-known (in this country) area of Lombardy on the Swiss border, where the steep slopes of the mountains give ideal conditions for Nebbiolo vines. The top wines of Nino Negri rival the best in Italy, with some of the qualities of both top Barolo and Amarone as well as a unique Valtellina character.
