TASTING NOTES
Torbreck are one of the most exciting producers in the Barossa Valley, making small quantities of various differenct combinations of Shiraz and Viognier. The Struie is mainly from old vine shiraz, and is powerful, plummy, tannic and extremely well balanced. This is exactly what Barossa Shiraz should taste like.
PRODUCER NOTES
Since 1995, David Powell has been turning out some of the most inspiring wines in the Barossa Valley. What is so interesting is his ability to fuse some of the character of Northern Rhone wines, the secondary, the earthy and leathery notes into the plush intensity of his old-vine Shiraz. His two icon wines, Run Rig and the Factor, both named after old Scottish forestry terms, are unique masterpieces, with the other wines, Steading and Woodcutters not too far behind.
