TASTING NOTES
'Owned by the ex owner of Ch Fonplégade, this property has been upgraded by Denis Durantou. Ample, broad and with real concentration of ripe fruit. Fresh yet supple. Not expensive – good value! Ex Moueix since 2002. Round and velvety. Dry finish. Neat ... 16.5 points'

PRODUCER NOTES
One of our ‘discoveries’ we think you will love! Château Moulinet was purchased by Armand Moueix in 1971 and is now owned by Marie-José and Natalie Moueix.
It's somewhat isolated, being on the northern edge of Pomerol where the soils are lighter. The wine produced is less full-bodied than those made further south but nevertheless has great class.
The property covers a relatively large area (by Pomerol standards), comprising 22 hectares of which 18 are under vine, planted with a high percentage of Merlot (65%) and Cabernet Franc (15%).
Château Moulinet employs winemaker Stéphane Derenoncourt, who also oversees the winemaking at Domaine de Chevalier, Rol Valentin and Petit Village, among others, so there is no real surprise to find that his magic is working at Moulinet too!
