TASTING NOTES
Fresh, pronounced rose petals on a very floral nose. Summer perfume notes. The palate bursts with flavours exploding in the mouth. Wonderful depth with smoky chocolate, sweet spice and cocoa. Lovely smooth body.
PRODUCER NOTES
Part of the Rothschild stable of wines, Clerc Milon is situated in the Northen part of the Pauillac appellation, with many vineyard plots scattered around a fairly diverse area. The soils are a mixture of sand and gravel, with more clay nearer the river. There are just over 43 hectares of vines in all, planted with 46% Cabernet Sauvignon, 39% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot and an impressive 1% Carmenere, the latter variety a rare sight in the vineyards of Bordeaux nowadays. The style of the wines combines somthing of the pure flavours of a Lynch Bages, with some more fatness and ripeness that you might associate with the Right Bank. Good value and very reliable Bordeaux.
