TASTING NOTES
Monastrell is the grape used in the full-bodied and deep wines of Jumilla in Southern Spain (and appears in many a chunky southern French red under the guise of Mourvèdre). Alone and cultivated in the baking heat of Jumilla, it produces a very full-bodied, rich and spicy wine of great depth.
PRODUCER NOTES
Highly acclaimed wines have been coming from this well-run Jumilla winery for years. Tiny yields and hand-harvesting combined with old vines (around 40 years) produce wines of admirable concentration based on the Mouvedre, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes.
