RIBERA DEL DUERO RESERVA 2005, HACIENDA MONASTERIO

PRODUCER NOTES

Hacienda Montasterio was set up on a 113 hectare estate, 70 of them with vineyards, located between Pesquera and Valbuena del Duero, known for the quality of their wines.
The current cellar was built in 1991 according to the project signed by French architect Philippe Mazieres, who had previously worked for prestigious wineries such as Château Margaux and Château d’Yquem.
The main grape planted here is Tinto Fino, a Tempranillo clone. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Malbec are also planted. Hacienda Monasterio practices ecological farming, which means minimum amount of chemicals are used.
