GEYSERVILLE 2008, RIDGE

TASTING NOTES
One of our all-time favourites, the Geyserville from Ridge really shows what Zinfandel (with a little help from Carignan and Petite Syrah) is capable of. Beautifully balanced with great complexity this is delicious now but ages magnificently.
PRODUCER NOTES
At the top of a mountain outside San Francisco there’s Ridge, who seem to have got just about everything right . The labels are iconic, the wines are outstanding. Beginning with their top wine, the Montebello and continuing through the Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet (a bargain considering it almost is Montebello – the wines are only separated after they’re in barrel) to the outstanding zinfandels from Geyserville and Lytton Springs, the whole range strikes a perfect balance between French elegance and Californian exuberance. Consistently delicious.
