THE CHOCOLATE BLOCK 2010, BOEKENHOUTSKLOOF

TASTING NOTES
As the name suggests, The Chocolate Block is full-bodied, very rich, powerful wine with a great deal of dark fruit flavour and a smooth, oaky mouthfeel. A great effort, and one of South Africa's most delicious drops.
PRODUCER NOTES
Boekenhoutskloof was founded in 1996 by legendary South African winemaker Mark Kent and the brilliance of its wines has never been in doubt. A winemaker whose ethos is rooted in French non-interventionist thinking, natural yeasts, minimal racking and impeccable vineyard work, Mark's meaty, complex Syrah is perhaps his most famous wine, but his other wines are equally remarkable. From the waxy, Graves-esque Semillon, to the powerful Cabernet and the sensational Chocolate Block, these wines are hard to find and quantities are miniscule.
