TASTING NOTES

At this great price this wonderful Reserva Rioja offers something quite spectacular. With a developed nose of blackcurrent, cherry, tobacco and leather, on the palate it is supremely elegant and light on its feet. This is not a big blockbuster wine by any means, but it is wonderfully balanced and super-smooth. It is, quite simply, one of the all-time greatest bargains ever to grace our shelves.

PRODUCER NOTES

Raimundo Abando at Las Orcas is a third-generation winemaker who runs his winery in Rioja Alavesa to exceptionally high standards. In 2000 investment was made to modernise the Bodega and the wines haven't looked back. Heavily reliant on old vine Tempranillo, the wines are dry farmed and fermented with natural yeasts. All of the wines are bottled unfined and unfiltered and are matured in older oak, about half French and half American.
