TASTING NOTES

"Keen Roberson watchers will have noticed our range of explicitly terroir-driven wines increasing, and here's another: made with as little intervention as possible, the key to Fescenino is the land it comes from, high in the hills of the Duero valley, where the winters are cold and the summers fluctuate between extreme heat and freezing nights. This temperature variability means that the ripening berries have a greater concentration of flavours relative to sugar: as a result, the grapes reach phenolic ripeness without losing an excellent sugar / acid balance. Aged in new French oak, here's a beautiful, clean, well-made wine from an exciting region in Spain: I had it recently with some pork roasted with apricots - a wonderful match." - Harry Watkins, wine advisor.
