PRODUCER NOTES

At the vanguard of the modern movement in Rioja moving away from traditional, long-matured wines aged in old American oak to a Bordeaux-inspired, French oak-based style. Since 1985, the winery has grown quickly, to producing a small range of highly scored wines. At the top of the tree are the two single vineyard, 100% Tempranillo wines, El Pison and Grand Anades. At a similar level is their consistant Pagos Viejos (from vines averaging 50 years old). A super value is their Vinas del Gain, a selection from younger vineyards designed for earlier drinking. A new project is their Artazurri from vineyards based in neighbouring Navarra.
