Growing Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in the Antipodes is a real challenge. Putting together the puzzle of climate, vineyard and clonal selection. Dr Andrew Pirie of Pipers Brook established this estate on hilltop vineyards within sight of the island’s north coast (and reach of sea winds) in order to take advantage of the long growing season that these Burgundy varieties love.
