BOURGOGNE BLANC 2008, DOMAINE BALLORIN

TASTING NOTES
Ballorin's Bourgogne Blanc is made to the same exacting standards as the red wines and is an unusual blend of chardonnay, pinot blanc and pinot beurot. Almost Chablis-like in its minerality, well developed and drinking now this will, like the reds, benefit from decanting.
PRODUCER NOTES
Fabienne and Giles Ballorin run this relatively new set-up, located on the border of Gevrey-Chambertin and Morey-St-Denis and comprised of a number of small parcels in relatively unheralded appellations. What the domaine lacks in famous terroir it certainly makes up for with dedication and commitment to quality - everything is organically or biodynamically farmed and yields here are low, very low indeed.
Allen Meadows (Burghound) said "I was tipped off to the already impressive quality emanating from their relatively modest appellations" and when we went to taste at the domaine last year we were massively impressed by the potential at Domaine Ballorin.
