PRODUCER NOTES
The Gagnard family is something of a fixture in the village of Chassagne-Montrachet, and in true Burgundian style there are numerous arms of the family all making wines under their own labels from their own domaines.
In charge at Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard is Richard Fontaine, brother-in-law of Jean-Marc Blain of Domaine Blain-Gagnard, related to the parental Domaine Gagnard-Delagrange (half of which he inherited), not to mention their cousins down the road at Domaine Jean-Noël Gagnard.
All the Gagnards make wonderful wines of class and purity, and Richard Fontaine-Gagnard excels with both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
