PRODUCER NOTES
Abbazia Di Novacella is a working 12th century Augustinian abbey that lies in the northernmost region of the Isarco Valley of Alto Adige. It has been cultivating grapes and making wine for centuries. They are famous for their Kerner wine, made from an indigenous cross between Riesling and Schiava, a local red wine grape from Alto Adige. The Abbey produces some of the regions most intense, aromatic white wines available – crafted by Italy’s 2009 winemaker of the year, Celestino Lucin.
