For lovers of Italian wine, Piedmont is a land of incomparable terroir, producers of unsurpassed skill and wines of unrivalled quality and complexity. The best of these wines come from the crus of Barolo and Barbaresco and this tasting will compare the top examples from the wonderful 1998 vintage. Only the most prestigious names have made the cut and we will be tasting both Barolos and Barbarescos from three of them - Giacosa, Gaja and Ceretto. In addition to these we will have a look at top Barberesco name La Spinetta and Barolo producers Roberto Voerzio, Domenico Clerico and Giacomo Conterno. Who knows, we might even open something from the 1960s to finish off the evening!
