'Tasted single blind against its peers. The Chateau Coutet 2007 has a very intense bouquet with lemon curd and orange blossom mixed with clear honey. There is impressive precision here, almost crystalline. The palate is medium-bodied with very fine viscous entry, great weight and intensity with racy acidity. There is also much tension cutting through the layers of viscous fruit on the sorbet-like finish. This is a typical Coutet through and through and it should age effortlessly over 20-30 years. I had hoped this wine would turn out closer to outstanding, but it is an excellent Cantemerle, if not quite as stunning as I had expected. The wine offers a dark ruby color, and a sweet nose of black raspberries, subtle new oak, and acacia smells. There is fine sweetness and solid tannin in this elegant, symmetrical wine. It is more forward and lighter than it was from cask, but it is a stylish example of Cantemerle. Anticipated maturity: 2003-2015 - Robert Parker

'Here however the SO2 is more noticeable at present and I would strongly suggest decanting this if you're going to try one young. Otherwise, there are pretty notes of lemon and rose petal with a hint of resin that precedes the attractively textured middle weight flavors that possess good fat but no the same cut and intensity. 'The 2004 Chateauneuf du Pape Tradition, which is primarily Grenache (about 90%), and the rest small parts of Mourvedre and Cinsault, displays sweet black cherry fruit with hints of the seaweed wrappers used in sushi bars, pepper, spice, a nice, round velvety palate with sweet fruit and roasted Provencal herbs. This wine has always reminded me of the 1999 which was a successful vintage for Usseglio. Drink it over the next 8-10 years.' - Robert Parker

'The 2006 Mr. K The Strawman Marsanne Vin de Paille is 100% Marsanne from the Beckmen Vineyard that boasts 240 grams of residual sugar per liter. A medium gold-colored effort, it reveals more marmalade notes interwoven with notions of maple syrup, honeysuckle, and exotic tropical fruits. While untuously-textured with remarkable sweetness, it is not cloying because of the fresh acids. I have no idea how long these wines will last, but they will undoubtedly keep for many years.The final wines to be bottled under the "Mr. K." moniker include the 2006 The Nobleman and 2006 The Strawman.' - 97 points Robert Parker

The 2008 possesses loads of fruit, but not the density and complexity I predicted from barrel. The bottled wine is a supple-textured, hedonistic style of St.-Emilion with plenty of herbaceously-tinged red and black fruits, medium body, silky tannins and a lush, fleshy, succulent finish.
