An absolutely stunningly elegant nose soars from the glass offering almost unbelievably good delineation and nuanced white flower fruit and subtle petrol notes with detailed, pure and racy middle weight complex flavours underpinned by intense minerality and superb length. 'This is a bit more aromatically complex if not finer or more elegant, featuring white flower and hints of the exotic that can also be found on the rich and powerful medium-bodied plus flavors blessed with plenty of dry extract where the moderately austere finish spreads out like a fan. As noted above, I normally prefer the Combettes to the Pucelles but in '05, it just doesn't have the intensity and vibrancy of the latter though I quite like this as well. If you can find them, buy both as you won't regret either purchase.' - Burghound

Here the floral and citrus-infused nose is fresher and with slightly better integration of the wood treatment that introduces pretty and intense medium weight flavors that possess good if not great delineation and an underlying mineral streak on the moderately long finish that also evidences a bit of wood. This is certainly a perfectly good effort but it's not at its usual level; moreover it's extremely forward and could easily be drunk now with pleasure. Allen Meadows.

'An expressive and maturing nose displays mildly exotic fruit aromas that also include more classic nuances of green apple, pear and fennel that continue onto the rich, full, naturally sweet and textured medium-bodied flavors that exude an intense minerality on the admirably long finish. Here there is enough unabsorbed sulfur to render the nose difficult to assess but the fruit does seem quite fresh and definitely ripe. There is excellent richness and volume to the delicious and relatively large-scaled flavors that possess fine mid-palate concentration before ending in an explosive and driving finish. Burghound.com
