Founded in 1833 by pharmacist and inventor Friedrick Koch - the winery has vineyards in some of the highest classified slopes above Oppenheim and Dienheim. This half-dry Riesling is made from old vines located on the boarder between the two towns.
In other regions, it goes by Chasselas, but in Germany it's known as Gutedel. Wonderfully refreshing, it's rather similar to some Chablis or even Muscadet. This is a cracking value white wine made from an unfancied varietal.
