An amazing bargain (better than many Puligny-Montrachets costing double) Les Femelottes is a rounded, expressive wine of exceptional flavour and class.
Domaine Chavy-Chouet
The Chavy family are well established in the Côte de Beaune, with Alain, Jean-Louis and Phillipe all making wine in and around Puligny-Montrachet. Hubert Chavy had been selling the bulk of his production to the top ...

“This is a "humble" but hugely enjoyable wine from a producer with vines across Burgundy's most famous vineyards. Ripe and lush, it's laden with flowers, tropical fruit and a distinct mineral facet.”
“A bit pinched but very well priced for a wine grown in Meursault, even if on the fringes. Light and tight.”
“Hold onto your horses – this is a thrilling white Burgundy at a wicked price and I would wager that the Roberson phone will be ringing off its hook by midday on the 13th December when MoneyWeek wine fiends reach this page. Made by 22 year old Romaric Chavy from one parcel of vines just outside of the Puligny-Montrachet boundary this is a staggeringly classy Chardonnay. Served blind I would have pinned a £30 plus price tag on Le Femelottes. It is drinking now and it’s a shimmering beauty in the glass. Burgundy fans look no further than this magical wine.”
“The 2017 Bourgogne Blanc Les Femelottes comes from five parcels from 15 to 60 years old vines adjacent to the Puligny-Montrachet village crus. It has a lovely, almond and white chocolate scented bouquet that is very well defined. The palate is well balanced with a fine thread of acidity, a touch of bitter lemon and frangipane towards the composed, quite phenolic finish. There is a lot in this regional white and it represents great value.”
