The decision to pick a touch earlier plus the blocked malo style result in a focused, energetic Chardonnay that hits all the right notes. ”
“Pale lemon yellow. Almost Chablis-like nose – very racy and refreshing indeed with the lightest of lees influence. Masses of acidity and a juicy, bone dry finish. This is lightyears from the old popcorn-rich California Chardonnay stereotype. Very clean, fresh and appetising with the lightest undertow that reminds us it was aged in oak rather than stainless steel. Very competent. One to confound a few European blind tasters, I would have thought.”
