“This is one of my favourite Bordeaux this year. Chateau Falfas is located in the idyllic Cotes de Bourg appellation and due to soil composition the proportion of Merlot in the blend is fairly high - about 50%. The wine is produced with total respect for the environment, following rigid biodynamic practices with no use of chemicals, which is very rare in Bordeaux. In the glass the wine shows a superb exuberance of fruit and very elegant tannins. It is a joy to drink and a bargain at this price.”
“One year in barrel, 30% new. Mid crimson. Again that meaty bloody note that I found on the Les Demoiselles de Falfas 2013 but with sweeter fruit – plum and red cherry. Chewy and fruity at the same time. The oak is well hidden but has given a roundness to the tannins. Firm and fresh. Moreish and still needs time.”
“Very round and luscious ... Really well chosen. Luscious.”
