“It’s very hard to choose between all of our amazing producer's wines but Christmas at home would never be complete without a bottle of Bordeaux. This year I plan to bring Château Franc-Cardinal 2010 to the table. It’s a perfect match with our traditional Christmas dishes: Lamprey a la Bordelaise or Capon with pan-fried ceps.”
“Dark ruby. Country claret - very mouthfilling and accessible. Definitely right bank. Just a little dusty and probably not for technocrats. Has evolved quite fast. Good value.”
“Mid crimson. Lovely complex mix of herby red fruit, a light meaty savour and a vestige of cedar oak. Drinking beautifully now. Subtle, complex and relatively light and so digestible. Tannins are still present but polished smooth. Not terribly long but very well balanced and à point.”
