“Grapefruit rind, yogurt, sour cream and warm pear show on the nose of this bottling. There is great acidity on the sip, with a mango cream and tropical fruit touch, but those elements coalesce into a rich, roasted-almond-driven palate as the wine breathes.”
“Front-loaded with oak on the nose - really full on - but not at all blousy or rancid. Certainly won't convert Chardonnay agnostics, but I find it very attractive, despite the heavy reliance on oak. ”
“Domaine Eden's 2013 Chardonnay is subtle, poised and gracious to the core. Dried pear, dried flowers, sage, mint and chamomile grace the palate in this understated, exquisite Chardonnay. Hints of smoke, slate and dried pear reappear on the super-classic, expressive finish. What a gorgeous wine this is. Quite simply, the 2013 Domaine Eden Chardonnay is a tremendous wine for the money. In 2013, the blend is approximately 72% declassified Mt. Eden juice and 28% wine from the Domaine Eden estate proper”
“Extremely refreshing and lovely on the nose, this slightly lower-priced bottling from the Mount Eden team shows nectarine, crisp pluot, cherimoya flesh and the lightest hint of Key-lime zest on the nose. The structure on the sip is intense, with stony crushed-concrete elements and flavors of lime rind, cold Gala apple and gunmetal.”
“Lovely, reliable ageworthy cuvée. A reserved bouquet of almond cream, poached pear, wet stones and spring flowers introduces a deep, full-bodied wine with bright acidity, minerality and tension. Still tightly-wound and will unwind with a few years in the cellar.”
