“There's nothing quite like finding a wine that hits the right price, flavour and complexity from a region going through bit of a revival. Especially when the wine comes from a small 12ha estate that's farmed organically. The wine is full of vibrant and black berry fruit. On the palate it's lively and fresh, bursting with brooding forest fruits. Pair it with anything barbecued, trust me. ”
“Chateau Mignan makes great-value reds from organic grapes grown on steep slopes of clay limestone soils in the heart of the Minervois AC. A blend of 73% Syrah and 27% Grenache, this robust, full-bodied wine expresses rustic charm with ripe black fruits and meaty, toasty notes. ”
“Definitely 'rustic' and close to 'harsh' at the finish. But I liked it despite drinking it with the wrong food really -needs something more robust than pasta .Very full and dark - hints of sweet fruit - with a sweep of dry/savoury later. Assertive wine.”
