RASCHEN RIDGE PINOT NOIR 2016
HIRSCH VINEYARDS

East Ridge meets West Ridge with this exciting first vintage of wine made from the rocky vineyards based at the highest elevation of a vast Sonoma County estate. Hirsch Vineyards are always looking for new expressions of their signature grape variety, and this incredible wine is the result of painstaking tasting of a special block of vineyard to prove it as one worth micro-bottling. A uniquely idiosyncratic offering from one of our favourite producers.

  • Superbly well-structured; concentrated fruit; fine tannins.
  • Inviting aromatics with hints of mild spice, cherry, and subtle herbal notes.
  • Meeting of marine, riverine, and continental climates has created a wine of surprising complexity.
  • Would benefit from at least five years ageing from release.
  • Perfect with smoked rabbit, steamed clams, or grilled asparagus.
