Réserve de la Comtesse is the second wine of Château Pichon-Longueville, Comtesse de Lalande – a celebrated ‘Second Growth’ in the appellation of Pauillac.
The production of second wines by Bordeaux’s top châteaux enable the winemakers to be highly selective with the fruit that is used for their Grand Vin. The wines benefit from the same meticulous care in the winery and can offer fantastic value, usually being more approachable in their youth and not requiring the same extended bottle ageing of their illustrious siblings.

“Reserve de la Comtesse is the second wine of Pichon Lalande and, at £53, it's a bargain compared to its older brother. Packed with dark fruits, great structure and silky-soft tannins, the incredible 2010 is drinking beautifully now.”
“Deep crimson. Scented and very savoury. Lots of top-quality oak in muted background fashion. A tad chunky and yeast-extract-like but there is lots here if you are a Pauillac fan.”
