SAPERAVI 2017
ORGO

An extraordinary discovery from Georgia, where they have been making wine like this for 8,000 years. Orgo, one of the country's best producers, use old vine Saperavi grapes to make a full-bodied yet elegant red, aged in buried clay containers.

  • Startlingly inky black colour; full-bodied with luscious strawberry fruit; savoury elegance and fine tannins.
  • Comes from one of the very few old vineyards in Georgia - Saperavi vines planted eighty years ago.
  • Made the traditional Georgian way, buried underground in large clay jars called Qvevri to ferment and age.
  • Delicious to drink on release, but will improve with age for at least five years.
  • Drink this with a rich hearty stew.
