This Soave Classico is everything you would expect from this great producer. Subtle fruit, a pleasant nutty character and a long dry finish. Superb.
“I’m a huge fan of the enormous variety of white wines from right across northern Italy. Soave is a particular favourite and this is a classic example from one of the region’s best producers. Fresh acidity with subtle floral notes and ripe citrus. A great summer wine.”
“Good to see an increasing number of fine Italian producers using screwcap, and why not, for a refreshing style of dry white which in this instance shows the classic textbook stonefruit and apple characters of the Garganega grape with a touch of Trebbiano di Soave for a finish that's appetisingly, nuttily dry.”
“Another year, another delicious Soave from Pieropan – and we're only (if that's the word) talking about the straight Classico, rather than either of the single-vineyard bottlings. It has a lovely blossomy freshness, lemon-scented fruit with a whisper of quince and honey and delicate, nutty, almond patisserie flavours. 95% Garganega, 5% Trebbiano di Soave. ”
