Straw yellow in colour. Notes of fennel, fresh apricot and honey on the nose, all complimented by a complex minerality. The mouthfeel is bold and powerful yet velvety in texture.
100% Albillo Real
The skins are left to cold soak with the juice from the grapes for 3 days prior to pressing and fermentation.
Mencia is a grape variety that flies under the radar, but time and time again delivers fresh and exciting wines that are also incredibly affordable. Jet black in the glass, this wine is brimming with flavours of wild plum and mountain herbs with a velvety finish. 97 Points Best in Show at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2020. Mencía is a great food wine (or better yet, while you're cooking) but can also age well after a few years.

Starting his own project in 2015, young winemaker César Márquez brings a low intervention approach, aiming to express the origin and terroir first and foremost. Working with a number of old bush vine parcels his wines are fresh and expressive. This red blend of Mencia and Alicante Bouschet is packed to the brim with notes of red berry, liquorice and violets.
