tasting profile

  • Fragrant white flowers, lemon confit, and fresh tarragon on the nose, complemented by notes of Anjou pear, crisp apple, and tart pineapple
  • On the palate, hints of lemon oil, crushed rock, and almond are balanced by subtle oak and a suggestion of sweet corn
  • The finish lingers with tropical nuances, a medley of orchard fruits, and a distinctive flint-rock minerality, echoing its high-elevation origins

in the winery

  • Artisanal: Grapes are meticulously handpicked. Most are pressed whole, while a select few are crushed.
  • Classic Fermentation: Leveraging large oak vessels in a cool cellar setting preserves the wine's intrinsic character
  • Aged with Care: Spends a year maturing in varied neutral oak vessels, letting its flavours meld without an overpowering wood influence
  • Freshness First: The choice to skip malolactic fermentation keeps the zesty essence front and centre

  • Food Pairing: A match for roast chicken, creamy salmon dishes, or even an earthy risotto
  • Drinking Window: Sip it now to appreciate its youthful verve, or let it evolve for a few more years. Your patience will be rewarded
  • Storage Tips: Keep it cosy in a cool, dark spot, ideally between 12°C-14°C

95 PTS - “The 2020 Chardonnay marries textural richness and energy, all in grand style. Lemon confit, white flowers and light tropical accents lend quite a bit of character. There is striking creaminess and oiliness to the feel, even though the malolactic fermentation was fully blocked. The 2020 is just gorgeous in the way it conveys mountain energy while avoiding any sense of austerity. 2023 – 2035” - Antonio Galloni

94 PTS - "Grown at high elevation, this structured, elegant white is balanced and beautifully composed. Crushed rock, ripe pear and melon flavours combine around bright, well-integrated acidity and oak, with a lasting imprint of flinty minerality." - Wine Enthusiast

93 PTS - "The 2020 Chardonnay hints at sweet corn but delivers vibrant apple and pineapple flavors. There's greater richness and texture than in the more polite 2021, but the wine remains medium-bodied and silky textured, with a lingering, elegant finish. With only about 10% new oak and no malolactic fermentation, it's a fine example of a less-worked Napa Chardonnay. Best After 2023. - Wine Advocate
