Pomerol

Pomerol is one of the smallest top Bordeaux region, but though it be small it is certainly mighty. Sitting on the right bank of Bordeaux, Pomerol is home to some of the finest expressions of Merlot made today. Historically, Pomerol was never an epicentre of wealth. It wasn’t home to grand Chateau’s and the elite of French winemaking. In fact, for centuries it was criminally overlooked. This changed in the mid 20^th Century, with powerhouse producers like Petrus and Le Pin putting Pomerol on the map. In fact, these wineries now command an even higher price than the first growths of the Medoc. Today Pomerol is one of the most respected, and highly collected appellations in Bordeaux.
