Grenache Blanc produces big, rich wines that tend to be higher in alcohol, so you will most often find it in white blends with crisper, higher acid varieties. It has flavours of citrus, ripe green fruits, flowers and herbal notes, and can be delicious if handled carefully and yields are kept low. The biggest areas in France for Grenache Blanc are the Southern Rhône and the Roussillon, and there are also substantial plantings in Spain, where it is known as Garnacha Blanca.
